Scholar Paper Reader is a Chrome extension that helps you extract paper metadata, generate citations, and keep private reading notes on arXiv, IEEE Xplore, Elsevier ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar.
We do not operate an application server. We do not receive your notes, extracted paper text, browsing history, or OpenAI API key. The developer does not run a cloud account for this product’s reading data.
chrome.storage.local.Uninstalling the extension, or using Settings → Delete all local data, removes this information from the browser profile.
api.openai.com. Extracted paper text is then sent to OpenAI to generate a summary.
We never receive that key or the model response.
The extension injects a content script only on the supported publisher sites listed in the Chrome Web Store listing.
It requests storage and sidePanel, plus host access to extensionpay.com for subscription checks.
Access to OpenAI is optional and requested at runtime.
